STANISLAW R. BURZYNSKI, M.D., Ph.D. was born in Poland. He graduated
first in his medical school class from the Medical Academy in Lublin,
Poland in 1967. In 1968, he earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry, being
the youngest person ever to receive this Degree in conjunction with
his Medical Degree. Dr. Burzynski did his Internship and Residency in
Lublin.
Dr. Burzynski came to America in 1970, joining the faculty of the Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He spent 7 years at Baylor. In
1977, he opened his own clinic and medical research facility. Since
that time, Dr. Burzynski has been in private practice treating primarily
cancer patients with pharmaceutical compounds, which he has discovered
and named “Antineoplastons.” These compounds are an important
part of biochemical defense systems against cancer, and viral infections
such as AIDS and are also important in other conditions such as autoimmune
diseases, Parkinson’s disease, neurofibromatosis and restenosis.
Dr. Burzynski employs over 130 people in his medical practice, research
facility and drug production plant. His clinic has over 20 medical doctors
and the research and manufacturing facilities have over a dozen Ph.D.’s
and Masters of Science professionals. Dr. Burzynski manufactures virtually
all of his own medications for the treatment of his patients.
In 1992, a team of investigators from the National Cancer Institute
conducted a site visit and reviewed the complete medical records of
7 terminally ill brain cancer patients. They concluded that in every
single case, Dr. Burzynski’s treatment caused a complete or partial
remission.
In 1996, after intervention by several congressional committees, the
FDA granted Dr. Burzynski permission to pursue almost 70 clinical trials
to prove the efficacy of his treatment. Some of these trials have already
reached their endpoint, and others are still continuing. He is the first
individual medical doctor who has invented a medical treatment, which
as been extensively tested under the FDA’s IND clinical trial process.
Dr. Burzynski has over 160 patents filed on his medications around the
world. He has authored almost 200 publications and there are over 100
publications on Antineoplastons by other researchers around the world.
